Fun Facts

1. Guinea Pigs Used to be HUMONGOUS!

Eight million years ago, the ancestor of the guinea pig was the buffalo-sized 1,545-pound rodent Phoberomys pattersoni. It lived a semi-aquatic life in the ancient Orinoco delta in northern Venezuela, frolicking amongst lion-sized marsupial cats and three meter long crocodiles.

2. The Meaning of the Word Ferret

The name, ferret is derived from the Latin furittus, meaning "furry little thief.", they love to stash everything they can carry. Slippers, socks, keys, toys.... You name it and they will sneak it under the couch and hide it.

3. Rabbits are Possessive.

If you see a rabbit rubbing their chin on something, that item is being claimed. Sometimes, it can be your pant leg or hand!
